"The bus front door closed on her arm," Officer K.Y. Jones said in a statement. "The MARTA bus driver began driving east on Joseph E. Boone, dragging the victim approximately 63 feet."

Police identified the driver as 52-year-old Belinda McMillan.

A passenger on the bus who didn't want to be identified said McMillan "seemed to be agitated with the rider before she even got off as people were trying to notify her that she was dragging this person. It was like she had no regard. She just wanted to close the door and move as quickly as possible."

Witnesses driving by told police they saw Robinson being dragged and drove their car in front of the bus to block it. That's when they said McMillan stopped and opened the door.

"The victim fell to the ground and rolled in front of the bus," Officer Jones said. "The MARTA bus driver drove around the victim and left the scene."

Atlanta Police caught up with McMillan at the West Lake MARTA station.

According to police, McMillan said Robinson got off the bus, turned back and began banging on the door. McMillan said Robinson ran alongside the bus, then tripped and fell in the street.

Robinson requires a walker to get around. Police said she suffered a broken arm and cuts on her legs and head, and was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in Downtown Atlanta.

McMillan was arrested and charged with reckless conduct. Police transported her to Fulton County Jail.
