Samsung Infuse 4G Price, Specs Announced (PHOTOS)

We're here in New York at Samsung Mobility's press event where AT&T's Jeff Bradley announced the Infuse 4G, notable for its massive 4.5-inch, Super AMOLED screen. The Android-powered, 8.99mm thick device lands on AT&T on May 15th for $199.99 (on the standard two-year contract).

The Infuse 4G is running Android 2.2 Froyo (not the latest, Gingerbread), and it's using the Samsung TouchWiz UI skin. You'll only find a single 1.2 GHz processor inside, but we had no problem loading up several apps and swiping between them. Dual cameras have become pretty much standard on Android phones these days, and the Infuse doesn't let down with an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera and 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera for video chatting. For a quick comparison, it's noticeably thinner than our iPhone 3GS, and despite its size, isn't heavy at all. That said, it is a big device, and it'll be a tight fit in anyone's pocket. We'll be getting some hands on time with the device in the next few days, but check out the full hands on gallery below.
