If a "Birther" jamboree starring Pat Boone and Arizona's Sheriff Joe Arpaio sounds like your idea of a good time, you should have bought a ticket sooner. The September 22 event, organized by Greater Phoenix Tea Party Patriots, has been called off due to poor ticket sales, reports ABC. Terry Lakin, an Army doctor who went to prison for refusing to deploy to Afghanistan, was also booked to speak at the event, which was supposed to take place at Phoenix's 2,650-seat Celebrity Theater.
Tickets were $10 in advance, or $25 including a "meet and greet" with the controversial sheriff, whose "Cold Case Posse" concluded that President Obama's birth certificate is "definitely a forgery." The cancellation has spawned conspiracy theories of its own, reports Talking Points Memo, which dubs the event "Birtherpalooza." The event was called off because the sheriff is "TOO DUMB to SEE the MURDERS Barack Obama had his Security Adviser John Brennan commit on Obama’s Gay Lovers in Chicago," wrote an odd visitor to the Facebook page of one of the organizers.
