Love at first bite!
Two-time Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas, 16, previously told Us Weekly that The Vampire Diaries' Ian Somerhalder is her celebrity crush, but unfortunately, she recently learned that he's dating his costar, Nina Dobrev, 23. "I'll show him my gold medal. You never know!" Douglas joked at the P&G Family Home in London August 8. "Does Ian have a brother?"
Indeed he does! The two are quite close, in fact, as the 33-year-old actor and his older brother, Bob, opened a reclaimed furniture shop named Built of Barnwood in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, in April 2012.
Several Vampire Diaries cast members -- including Somerhalder, Dobrev, Paul Wesley, 30, Claire Holt, 24, and Michael Trevino, 27 -- recently filmed a video message congratulating Douglas on being the fourth American to win the women's gymnastics all-around gold medal at the London Olympics August 2.
"It's amazing and to think I'm part of their little group now is so cool!" Douglas told Us. "They tweeted at me. You know you've finally made it when the stars are tweeting at you. They're backing me up."
Once she returns stateside, Douglas hopes to meet "the Vampire Diaries cast, and Oprah [Winfrey], Holly Robinson Peete and Chilli [from TLC]."
"You know: 'Don't go chasing waterfalls. . ." Douglas sang, referencing Chilli's 1995 hit single "Waterfalls" with TLC bandmates T-Boz and Left Eye. "I know!"
