GOP Group Courts Women At Convention With ‘Hair And Makeup Touch Ups’

In case the female Republicans in Tampa for the GOP convention aren’t feeling quite glamorous enough to listen to policy platforms, conservative group YG Network has created a pop-up salon near the convention hall that promises to help them “woman up.”

While the men of the GOP gear up to talk policy, debate the merits of their platform, and listen to speeches about the Republican vision for America, the women can stop by Young Gun’s Network’s “Woman Up Pavillion” for hair and makeup touch ups while cable news plays in the background. From the looks of it, the salon hasn’t caught on yet:

The pavillion was created in honor of Dr. Miriam Adelson, wife of billionaire Sheldon Adelson, to thank her for her huge contribution to the group

Asked whether YG Network had a male equivalent to the “Woman Up” salon, Brad Dayspring, former spokesperson to House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) and current senior advisor at YG Network, responded, “Real men know how to Woman Up!” The group has a t-shirt pushing the same message:

Starting tomorrow, the YG Network will also host public policy panels at the Woman Up Pavillion.
